No matter how much you spend at the local fireworks store, you’ll never compete with the experience select cities put on around the United States. Now, with most of the country hot and dry, it isn’t advised you try.Americans will fill our commercial counterparts this holiday, so why not take this opportunity to turn this into the experience of a lifetime by flying private to a fireworks display and experience you’ll never forget?We have put together a short list of destinations that are sure to impress.

Washington DC

There are few better places to watch fireworks than the nation’s capital. Thomas Jefferson hosted the first fireworks display from his lawn way back and let’s just say the display has grown a bit. This firework display lasts around 17 minutes and launches from the Reflecting Pool Area.Visitors can see the DC display from almost anywhere but if you plan to view from the National Mall, plan to get there early. New York City

NYC and Macy’s are known for putting on a show and July 4^this no different. Travel and Leisure noted this display uses three times more shells than any other display in the country, using barges strategically placed on the Hudson.

Again, plan on arriving early to claim your space. Two suggested viewing areas are Twelfth Avenue with part of the West Side Highway being closed, and also New Jersey on the Hudson.

Boston

It’s no shocker the city where the American Revolution started is a top spot for fireworks. More than 200,000 people come out to the Charles River to see this show.

In addition to the usual free Boston Pops concert, Jennifer Hudson is set to perform this year.

San Francisco

Fisherman’s Wharf is always the place to hang out in San Fran, and July 4^th is no different. Bands start playing around 2:00 so we suggest getting down there early and making a day of it. Fireworks start around 9:30.

It might be late in the game to get in on an Alcatraz cruise but it’s worth trying to schedule one.

Nashville

Music City is a favorite of ours since we are based in Tennessee, though it has earned top ranking from major media outlets as being a top fireworks display. The show lasts for 30 minutes at Riverfront Park and is to the music of the Nashville Symphony.

Addison Texas

KABOOM Town as it is known is a suburb of Dallas.  The fireworks actually take place at the south end of the Addison Airport and can be seen from anywhere in the area. The town is hosting a party at Addison Circle Park but many hotels are also having watching parties.
