Location. Overlooking Newport Harbor, directly across from the renowned harbor and waterfront restaurants on Bowen's Wharf, the Fairfield Long Wharf Resort is located in Newport, R.I. The resort is convenient to area attractions including the Newport Art Museum and the International Tennis Hall of Fame, both under one mile from the property. Spring Street, the main thoroughfare of the Historic Hill district is also less than one mile from the property. The district is home to the "cottages," summer mansions constructed by the affluent during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Shopping, dining, and entertainment options are available, with Thames Street hosting the most numerous and popular venues in town.
Hotel Features. The indoor section of the indoor/outdoor pool features a waterfall and a jetted tub. Another tub is located outdoors and the resort features a health club, sauna and a private surround sound movie theater. Expert Tip. Just over two miles from the inn, is The Breakers Mansion, originally the home of the Vanderbilt family. The original furnishings and a massive cubed hall sheathed in marble adorn this manor. The Cliff Walk, a three and one half miles away, borders the back lawn of the mansion.
