Arrayed along a white sand beach on Grand Bahama Island's south shore, the Westin Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya Resort is part of a sprawling 372 acre resort. Our Lucaya Resort contains two hotels. The Westin caters largely to adults and couples, while its companion hotel, the more casual Sheraton, is designed for families. Guests of both hotels have full access to all resort facilities and activities. The Westin Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya Resort offers a casino, 10 restaurants, four pools, the Senses Spa, and two golf courses, including the Reef Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., and site of a PGA Senior Tour event. The resort's 7.5 acre beach slopes gently into turquoise waters hiding coral outcroppings for snorkeling.
The Westin hotel section has two large spa tubs and three pools, one an enormous serpentine shape featuring an infinity edge and swim up bar, and one a 90 by 12 foot lap pool. The three floor, 25,000 square foot Senses Spa & Fitness Center offers a beauty salon, gym, and health spa. The health spa provides massage, body treatments, hydrotherapy, and facials along with several signature treatments. The fitness center has cardio and weight machines, free weights, spinning, and other exercise classes. Decorated in Bahamian blues and yellows, the 749 air conditioned rooms feature Westin's signature Heavenly Beds and Heavenly Baths. All have furnished balconies or patios, most with ocean views. The Manor House, Westin's colonial style main building, contains a two story lobby with potted palm trees and comfortable seating, as well as a veranda with rattan rocking chairs. From there, guests look over banks of blue blossom plumbago and down an expansive manicured lawn to the ocean. This little used veranda provides a tranquil setting for morning coffee and evening cocktails.
